Melanie Hamrick

Melanie Hamrick is a professionally trained ballerina whose career spanned over 16 years with American Ballet Theatre. She graduated from The Kirov Academy of Ballet as well as training at The School of American Ballet. While working with ABT she was a guest artist with Universal Ballet, Seoul Korea. Over her career Hamrick has worked with Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, Benjamin Millepied, Twyla Tharp, Kevin McKenzie, Mark Morris and numerous others. She has done multiple photoshoots and projects for W magazine, Vogue, Marie Claire, The Mirror, Pointe Magazine, Femail and Dance Magazine.

Hamrick has devoted much of her time in teaching dance through multiple non profit organizations. Working with Head Start, Youth American Grand Prix, DanceWave and schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

As a choreographer Hamrick worked with Dancing With the Stars in Macy’s Stars of Dance. She and her creative partner Joanna DeFelice choreographed the ballet Porte Rouge for the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg and Youth America Grand Prix at Lincoln center. In 2019 she was the Women's Initiative recipient from ABT giving her the opportunity to incubate with dancers for two weeks. Melanie has been a movement coach on photoshoots with Vogue and multiple exercise brands. Her passion is to merge her in depth knowledge of classical art with pop culture.
